Catros-2TS trailed compact disc harrow
Overview
The Catros-2TS compact disc harrow is ideally suited for shallow and intensively mixing soil tillage. Thanks to its easy pulling, and working widths from 4 to 7 m, especially high forward speeds and impressive work rates are possible.

Features
Outstandingly low fuel consumption | With the Catros compact disc harrow, operational speeds of 12 km/h to 18 km/h are achieved problem-free, enabling outstandingly high work rates and reducing the operational time to a minimum. Important, however, for economic success, are both the fuel, and the wear and tear costs. In order to determine reliable figures for these costs AMAZONE has carried out trials in collaboration with the DLG test centre in Gross-Umstadt. In all the tests, the Catros compact disc harrows proved to be extremely fuel efficient. So when stubble cultivating at a medium working depth of about 6 cm – depending on soil type and ground topography – an approximate fuel consumption of only 4 l/ha was measured. Similarly favourable were the consumption figures during seedbed preparation. |
Catros+ discs - extremely precise, extremely shallow | The 510 mm diameter Catros+ discs are the ideal solution for the precise, extremely shallow and intensively mixing stubble tillage. In this way you create the optimum preconditions for both the germination of volunteer grains and weed seeds and a quick straw rotting. |
CatrosXL discs – for an intensive mixing | The serrated CatrosXL discs with a diameter of 610 mm are characterised by their more aggressive operation and a more reliable penetration even under difficult conditions. The optimum operational range of these discs is for stubble tillage, seedbed preparation and also the incorporation of cover crop residues. |
No lubrication ever again – thanks to the maintenance-free disc bearings | With no need to lubricate the disc bearings, this results in a significantly reduced overall maintenance time. Face seals have been used for decades in road construction equipment where the rollers on the running gear of caterpillar-tracked vehicles have to be effectively sealed and continue to work absolutely reliably under the toughest of operational conditions. |
Oversized disc bearings | Due to the robust design, maintenance-work and running costs are again kept to a minimum and long life times are guaranteed even under the most arduous operational conditions. |
Optimum setting of the disc row stagger | Thanks to the uncomplicated and compact build, the need for adjustment is kept to a minimum. Only in extreme operating conditions is it necessary that an improvement to the setting of the disc rows needs to be carried out via the offset slide mechanism. So, in cases where the soil has not been loosened across the full working width, the setting of the disc rows can, via the offset slide mechanism, be quickly, simply optimised and without tools. A further advantage is the ability to readjust the disc row stagger when as the discs wear. The adjustment is carried out via the four-sided eccentric block that acts as the limit stop. |
Hydraulic depth adjustment | As an available option, the hydraulic depth adjustment represents a great improvement in comfort as it allows, also on the move, the alteration of the working depth from the tractor cab. For further orientation a clear depth scale is supplied. So, operation in the field is as shallow as necessary and on the headland and in wheel tracks working deeper is possible |
The comfortable upper class | The standard equipment of the Catros-2TS trailed models in 4 m up to 7 m working widths includes a bogey Chassis with drawbar. Catros-2TS models travel more smoothly, because during operation, the running gear folds completely over the centre frame. In addition, and especially in hard conditions, the weight of the running gear can be utilised to aid soil penetration. As standard, the Catros-2TS features a vibration damping system that results in a very smooth travel, even under the toughest of conditions. The Catros-2TS offers a high operational flexibility, yet with a low lifting power requirement. When equipped with an air braking system, all trailed compact disc harrows are permitted to travel at 40 km/h. (Please observe country-specific traffic regulations.) An additional benefit is their operational flexibility as numerous possible following rollers are available. |
Turning on the roller | In combination with different following rollers, the Catros+-2TS and CatrosXL-2TS offers the possibility to turn on the roller. So, at the headland, the machine is simply raised via the lower links and the machine runs on the roller during the turning process. Thus, the turning process on the headland is simple, quick and preserves soil structure. |
Cover crop sowing and soil tillage in one operational pass | AMAZONE offers the GreenDrill cover crop seeder box so that cover crops can be applied directly with the soil tillage operation. The seed hopper holds 200L, or alternatively 500L, and is easily accessed via the loading steps provided. In the metering system below the seed hopper, a seed shaft is fitted with normal or fine seed wheels depending on the seed type and desired application rate. The drive to the seed shaft is electric and that of the blower fan either electric or hydraulic. |
